Working Together to Make a Difference

I am passionate about creating a "Sunergeo" movement - a movement "working together" among our NCBC churches. In the last two years, it has been exciting to see partnerships develop because of that.

Recently, I was intrigued by an article from Leadership Network called "Creating Strategic Alliances and Partnerships for Planting New Churches." The article tells why churches are forming partnerships and alliances across the country.

Pastors, churches and leaders are partnering because they know that no one church can accomplish Christ's mission alone. Through partnering, they share resources, avoid reinventing the wheel, and make a greater impact.

As part of NCBC, your church has many advantages and natural opportunities to work together. Here are some exciting examples of how our district churches are "working together" with Jesus to expand His Kingdom through partnering and church planting:

New Covenant Community Church, Fresno

New Covenant Community Church in Fresno hosted our Latino Planter Evaluation Retreat with 5 candidate couples the last weekend in October. Several Latino and Anglo churches helped fund it, and some of our Latino pastors - Mike Ensley and Chris Swanson - were evaluators. Chester and Catalina Hood from Harvest Bible Church (Paso Robles) translated, produced the material and were our administrators.

New Harvest Church

New Harvest Church in Clovis has been working for 5 years now in an urban community school in Fresno providing mentors, Saturday sports and games, and special events throughout the year. The Fresno LEAD Team churches are working on ways they can partner and assist New Harvest to plant a Latino church there.

San Jose LEAD Team

The San Jose LEAD Team is partnering to help William Taghap who is planting in San Jose/South Bay. Craig Selness from Cornerstone Community Church is William's church planting coach. LEAD Team churches have provided funding, and even jumped in to provide a washer and dryer they needed!

Coastal LEAD Team

Pastors from the Coastal LEAD Team are partnering together with the BGC to bring the National School of Leadership to collectively train and reproduce leaders in their area.

Golden Hills Community Church, Brentwood

Golden Hills Community Church in Brentwood is building a strategic partnership to assist Aaron and Sugar Roy as they plant in Richmond, California.

There are so many ways we can partner together with Jesus to expand God's Kingdom! Please let me know how I can help you or your church to "Sunergeo" with other churches!
